How to Create a Blog Post for Customers and Search Engines.

There are three important audiences to be writing for: 1. Other members and friends of your Social Networks. 2. Consumers, Subscribers, and a Target Audience of readers. 3. Search Engines. I'm sure this is preaching to the choir, but this is important information to be shared if you want to get maximum exposure and results from your Blog posts with consumers, visitors, and with Google. Google Juice? I'll drink to that! :-)

Blogging for Customers and Search Engines correctly is a key component to a successful Blog.

Using these effective strategies and time tested methods when creating your post can make a huge difference. The first thing when writing a post is to determine the audience you are writing for, the product or concept you're promoting, and the geographic market you are targeting. In this scenario, we are creating a Blog post to drive readers, consumers, and search engines to your Blog which is All About Your Area. Things like "Vacant Land", "Open Houses", "Loan Modifications", "Tax Credit", "Pest Control", "Relocation", "Market Statistics", "Short Sales", "Condos" etc.

1. How to title a blog post: Use a title that a customer would type into Google. example: "Open Houses in Mesquite Nevada" Targeting Neighborhoods and focusing on Communities are best, but you can also use City/State. Most searches by consumers always include a geographic area. example: "Vacant Land For Sale in Bend, Oregon" Don't just title your post "Vacant Land For Sale" as it probably won't get indexed to a specific location and will likely get lost in the Search Engine Abyss. (SEO abyss = page 24 of Google)

2. Repeat the title in BOLD in the first sentence of your blog post. example: "Vacant Land For Sale in Bend, Oregon" and now priced better than ever! Build your dream home in Bend, Oregon!" By creating the first sentence of your post to include the title and BOLD key search words, terms, or phrases, you'll increase the potential of being found and then read. That first sentence is typically the first sentence that shows up under your TITLE within the Google search results. It's an important part of getting the search engines to recognize your topic and see it's relative content. It's also what will help a consumer decide if they want to click on your link or NOT!

3. Write your blog posts to the title...then add in good content that a customer would want to know about. It takes a bit more time to think this strategy through, but the results and rewards will be tremendous. This in NOT the only way to gain SEO and more exposure, but it's a great place to start if you're new to Blogging and are wanting quicker results from your time and efforts here.

Creating posts and Understanding Long tail and Short tail search terms: Short tail searches are just that, very short keyword searches. example: "Homes for sale" or "Homes For Sale Austin, Texas". This is where most searches begin during the early stages of research by consumers. The Long tail search comes into play the closer consumers get to making a final purchase decision. example: "Gated Community Homes For Sale With a Pool in Austin Texas" Justin Smith explains more about Long tail/ Short tail searches in his post. You can also find more details by searching Google for "Long tail and Short tail searches." Here's a video that might help make heads or "tails" about this.

4. Go through your blog post and make sure that the words of your title are repeated a minimum of at least three or four times. At least one time every other paragraph or so. You should also bold those keywords so they stand out to the reader and to the search engines. You need to be somewhat creative in doing this and remember, don't over do it.

5. Tag your blog posts with other keywords and phrases the customer may type into Google. These should be topic related and relevant to your post. Do not try to game the search engines by packing in keywords that have nothing to do with the post, this will do more harm than good in most if not all cases. Also make sure to include images and links to relative sites, this will create more stickiness and add value to your posts.

Creating a Blog Post for Customers and Search engines is not that difficult once you understand some of these basic concepts and then practice and apply them on a regular basis. This is not to say you shouldn't write about other topics both personal and business, even those can be tailored to get you better results with customers and search engines. We tested this theory on the Fourth of July Weekend and you should see some of the results ActiveRain members experienced. It really does work.

Sabbath Gleanings......... I am getting back into the swing of things slowly...

After writing a comment on Sara Washburns Facebook
page about Christianity yesterday, I suddenly felt more
renewed to post here in ActiveRain.

To be frank I am still getting my feet wet around here and
even though my posts are getting better statistics, I still
feel like a new born puppy learning to sniff around again.

Please be patient with me while I find my blogging legs
again. I promise my blogs will continue to get better as time
goes on. I have heard it written and said that practice makes
perfect. My blogs will NOT be perfect, but I am hoping they
will be more readable, educational and entertaining for you!

This weeks "Sabbath Gleanings" almost did not happen again.
I just could not find a good topic to post on, since to me there
was nothing worthwhile to blog about.

THEN I took a look at MY LIFE.

Uhoh... I said to myself..... THERE is a blog just waiting to be
written!!

I have always been transparent about when I had a need or
went through a situation in my life that I thought others
could benefit from.

BUT...... my ongoing life as a BLOG??!!??

I was AND AM STILL hesitant about letting it all hang out.

BUT... that STILL SMALL VOICE had other things to talk to
me about. Have you ever been so convinced YOU could NEVER
be an inspiration to others you were stopped cold in your
tracks and ended up doing absolutely NOTHING??

Well, THAT thought and principle came into my heart and
mind lately. I actually BELIEVED it to be true, since on the outside,
my life was in a shambles. I believed I could NEVER be an
inspiration to others again because my life was ruined (in my
estimation).

Little did I know The Lord had different things in store for me.

All the while my life was seemingly "upside down" I kept on
looking for people to minister to:

A guy who had issues with his girlfriend and accepted
the Lord after talking to me and praying to become a Christian.
The guys brother opening up to me about how religion had
been forced on him in his youth.
Having conversations with other employees at work about
what it meant to be a Christian.
Seeing a new landlord and his girlfriend go through painful
times and praying for them to get things right...... and as a
result they are progressing in things.
Getting to know a new broker to work with in the future who
is a Christian and is someone I can trust.
Attending a church where the leadership KNOWS the deep
things of God and they understand MY life and what I am
going through.

The simple message of this post is this:

Your life, if you are a Christian, is NOT about how much money you make, what car you drive, what toys you have or even if you are married or not or what social circles you move in.

It's all about living the way Jesus our Messiah lived while he was on earth so long ago. When you are born again spiritually by accepting Jesus as your LORD and Messiah and confessing and repenting of your sinful habits, you have a measure of Gods Spirit deposited inside you as a "down-payment", proving you are one of His sons or daughters.

What YOU DO with that down-payment is your gift to God and to Jesus, when our Creator tells our Messiah to take the earth from Lucifer's rule and to set up the RIGHTFUL kingdom originally set up to rule this planet.

WILL YOU cultivate that talents God has deposited in YOU?

OR are you so caught up with the THINGS you have,
that His Kingdom takes a back seat OR no seat at all?

And He was saying to them all, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it. Luke 9:22-24

Parable of the Talents

"For it is just like a man about to go on a journey, who called his own slaves and entrusted his possessions to them. "To one he gave five talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his own ability; and he went on his journey.

(Those who get persecuted because of the changes in their lives and they fall away)

"And others fell on the good soil and yielded a crop, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty. (Those who by patent enduance bring forth a crop to Gods glory)

Enlarging Your Territory & Influence

We've gone by half of 2010 too quickly. Gone are the days of the Tax Credit, if your business depended on the stimulus. So, how are you preparing the 2nd half of 2010 and beyond?

I find this Sunday God First post just perfect for a time such as this.

The Prayer of Jabez is found on 1 Chronicles 4:10:

Jabez cried out to the God, "Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from harm!" And God granted him his request.

A simple yet bold prayer that we all can use in our lives...

4 simple requests and granted by God.

Blessing me: Pray about your personal needs. Pray through good and bad times. Pray for the little things and the big ones. All He wants is your trust in Him shown through your actions and perseverant prayers. Ask God to give you an abundant life. He planted the desires of your heart anyways. You must now just utter it back wholly.

Enlarging my territory: Territory can mean many things. It can mean expanding your business area, increasing your finances, cultivating more relationships, enlarging your wisdom and understanding for the business and influencing you to help others.

On a personal note, it could mean teaching you more about humility and patience. Giving you more physical strength to face the challenges for the day and having good health.

Keeping me safe: Pray about protection. Protection while you travel and protection while you are away from home. Protection about handling a transaction ethically and honorably.

Keeping harm out: Ask God to keep you from harm: physical pain, anxieties, fears, sickness, suffering, slander, problems at home and struggles at work.

Although it may seem that this post is written for the self-employed, it doesn't have to be received that way. Even if you were an employee of an organization, or even a home buyer or a home seller, the Prayer of Jabez may apply to you too. Ask God for opportunities in your life. Ask God for provisions and expansion. God hears them all!

God desires that we ask. He is not afraid of your requests. He knows ALL about them. In Matthew 7:7-8, it says to ask, seek, and knock. It will be given to you!

Have you prayed the Prayer of Jabez recently? Try it, it might just change your life.

In addition to all our human planning, we must submit our plans to Him. He will grant them in His timing according to our needs (not our wants).

Are You Up for Selling Your OWN Real Estate?

As I’m sure you are aware, the real estate industry is experiencing one of its worst down markets in history—at least locally it is. The last thing you want to do is pay commission to a real estate agent, right? Not to mention the fact that you’re nearly positive you can sell your own home just fine without having had any experience in doing so—it’s EASY!

Before sticking a “For Sale by Owner” sign up, however, you’ll need to make sure that you’re ready for the work and headaches entailed in doing so.

Time. Yes, you absolutely can sell your real estate on your own without the help of an agent but, it takes a lot of preparation and time. How much is your time worth to you? How much time do you have to spend preparing, pricing, marketing, procuring a buyer, showing and quite possibly even selling your home? Before you set out on your own, make sure you can afford the time and energy investment requirements.

Service and value. Going it alone, you’ll lose out on a wide variety of services offered by Realtors®. For example, many agents now provide home staging services as well as extensive advertising and marketing services both online and off.

Exposure. You also need exposure to buyers—real estate agents work together to help their sellers procure buyers for them. Realtors® also belong to various organizations which allow sharing of listing information among other Realtors® and the public—your buyer. As well, real estate marketing is our business—we do this full-time and we realize that 87%+ buyers find their homes online—on our sites.

Legalities. Selling a home involves contracts, closings and a multitude of legal issues that can make or break a real estate sale. Real estate transactions have occasionally led to outcomes that were unexpected, including lawsuits. A professional helps ensure that the contracts are legally sound, binding and carried out to the letter of the law.

Market knowledge. Realtors® have instant access to current market information. We are able to establish an accurate selling range within minutes after viewing your property. Since the real estate market is in constant fluctuation, it’s important to have a complete knowledge of the market before pricing your own home. Otherwise, your risk underselling or overpricing your home. Public online sites’ estimates and comparable sales are NOT accurate and can cause you to make a costly mistake right out of the gate with your pricing.

You will also need experience with legal contracts and excellent negotiating skills. Recent NAR reports that only 2% of homeowners who market their home for sale are actually successful—and many times, the buyer is a family member or a friend.

Unless you have your finger on the pulse of the market, chances are a costly mistake can and will be made.

Homes Are Alot Like People...

...TLC, a healthy diet and even a little surgery may be required! As a former nurse, I have come to learn the commonalities that Charlotte real estate shares with patients--they really do have a lot in common. No anesthesia is required for the treatments necessary to remedy the home aging process though! As homeowners, however, we may need a little anesthesia when we receive the maintenance bills if we don’t stay on top of our home's aging process right from the beginning.

1. Homes get wrinkles, too. Yes, believe it or not, I’ve seen Charlotte homes for sale with sagging plaster, drooping windows and hanging doors. Brand new “For Sale” signs sit out front, their clean, white sparkle starkly contrasting with the wrinkles. It’s not attractive; the homes may be only ten years old (30 in house years!), but they look much older. Be kind to your home – use a little cosmetic surgery when necessary.

2. There ARE cosmetic surgeons available for homes. Only, in home-speak, they’re called “contractors.” If you notice that your home has wrinkles and you want to sell it, see what replacements you can afford to have the contractor handle for you before putting your home on the market. Windows? They’re reasonably affordable on most budgets and can make a huge difference in how the house looks. Hanging doors? Not as affordable as windows, but still doable. With $10,000 or less, you can give your home a major facelift.

3. Homes do get tired too. Have you looked around your house lately? This is one of the first things you want to do before putting it on the Charlotte real estate market. Is your home tired and worn out? Even relatively young homes can show signs of energy-deficiency. Cabinets start sagging. Doors groan and sigh when you open them. Windows refuse to stay open all the way and slowly slide back down in the tracks. Give your home an energy boost. Even a little WD-40 can make a huge difference, especially on groaning doors. If we’re talking about groaning garage doors, a $5. can of silicone spray can do wonders (and should be used about once a year to keep them youthful).

4. Homes can go bald and get age spots. It’s true, they can. What used to be a bright red roof has faded and peeled in places, giving the home an “aged” look. The real kicker is, to keep it bright and pretty, you have to maintain it, dye it or replace it. Keep the overhanging oak trees trimmed back to avoid the age-spotting sap from necessitating early hair plugging! Take care of your home’s head!

5. Homes need TLC too. To stay happy and healthy, homes need tender loving care too. With a steady diet of maintenance, touchups and cosmetic surgery, your house will be happy and you will be able to find a good buyer too!

If you’re selling your home, make sure it stands proud above the rest—youthful, despite its age!

Pullman Washington, home of Washington State University, sits on the far eastern border of the state in the heart of the Palouse Region. Pullman Washington, home of Washington State University, sits on the far eastern border of the state in the heart of the Palouse Region. Pullman is divided into four hills or neighborhoods -- Pioneer Hill, Sunnyside Hill, Military Hill and College Hill. The following Map of Pullman WA I made might be helpful. Military Hill, the northwest corner of Pullman Washington, is home it the Pullman Indoor Aquatic Center. The aquatic center is home to many swim lessons for kids of all ages. Our elementary school on Military Hill is Jefferson Elementary. Our high school for all of Pullman is called Pullman High School. The homes on Military Hill consists of a varied collection of older homes and new construction.

Many of the residents of Pioneer Hill find this a big bonus to living on Pioneer Hill. Our elementary school on Pioneer Hill is Franklin Elementary. Our middle school for all of Pullman is Lincoln Middle School. The homes on Pioneer Hill range from vintage to newer homes.

How to Use Twitter (in my humble opinion) - Tip #1 - Start or Join a Conversation

When I started using Twitter back in the fall of 2008 (I had joined many months earlier, but barely used it up to that point), I was a little stumped by all of the lingo and the fast pace of the platform:

What is a "retweet"? Why do I have to use an "@" symbol in front of everyone's name to talk to them? Is anyone really listening?

Over time, I became much more comfortable with the platform, and it has been invaluable to me as a business tool. I connected with my radio co-host there. I recruited some people to work for our company. I had real-world dollars in my pocket because of the things that I learned there and the people I met, some of whom I got to know in person as well.

In an effort to share some of the things that have worked for me, I am starting a series of posts about Twitter and its usage. If you're looking to learn how to use Twitter as a legitimate tool to grow your business and your base of connections, you will probably want to follow along.

Today's tip (as you probably noticed in the title above) is this:

START OR JOIN A CONVERSATION

One analogy that I've heard and used to describe Twitter is that it's much like a big party. If you are hanging out at a party, you will probably be part of many conversations throughout the event. Sometimes the conversations get a little more in-depth, and sometimes they even get private. Other times, you're just kidding around with friends and having a good time. Most things that you can do with regard to networking in person can be done on Twitter as well, although I am not suggesting that Twitter or any other social media tool should replace face-to-face meetings.

HOW TO START A CONVERSATION

I know that this seems really rudimentary, but we've had so many clients ask this that I thought it would be pertinent to include here. Think of how you start a conversation in person. Do you mention a blog post you just wrote? Well, maybe, but only if you describe it somehow and then chat about it afterward. The same applies with Twitter. Simply broadcasting your posts to the tweetstream with no commentary is valueless, in my humble opinion. You can include them, to be sure, but only as part of a larger plan.

Try these ideas:

Mention a cool article or video you have seen
Take a poll
Ask a question of any kind ("what is your favorite TV show/movie/80′s song?")
Say something funny - anything truly funny will usually get a good response
Promote others by retweeting stuff you find interesting or wise

HOW TO JOIN A CONVERSATION

Unlike being at a real-life party, Twitter offers you the opportunity to join conversations with little chance of personal rejection. If you spot something of interest, respond to it, as in, "Me, too. That book changed my outlook on life in general." If you see something funny, respond accordingly, "I laughed so hard just now that milk came out of my nose."

If you see a discussion about something that looks interesting or about which you can converse, just jump in and participate. The worst case is no response at all, and you haven't really risked much, right?

Again, I recognize that this is pretty basic stuff, but I'm trying to illustrate that Twitter isn't mysterious or difficult. It can facilitate things if you use it the right way.
