Fran's Friday Forum...PROPHETS...TRUE OR FALSE...???

There are some very educated people who are saying, right now, that they will vote for President Obama in 2012...!!! And this in the face of an economy racked by foreclosures, bankruptcies, short sales, jobless, underemployed, debt ridden, near hopeless mentalities, etc..And all this...before Obama dips into his near billion dollar reelection stash...!!!

Of course, these ‘ostrich types’, are some of the same people who referred to President Bush as ‘STUPID’ or ‘DUMB’, and do the same when referring to any of the present opposition to Obama’s reelection...attacking the messengers instead of focusing on the message...

They simply cannot face reality...even though if they were to get into their cars and drive down any stretch of commercial real estate where business after business and building after building show signs of an economy that has put them out of business and caused them to go ‘belly up’...evidence in abundance...

WELL, if they attribute these signs to a Republican controlled House of Congress or yet the workings of President Bush now 3 years removed from office, rather than the failed policies of a destined-to-fail administration...What will their thinking be when President Obama begins spending some of his billion dollar ‘war chest’...

When even ‘some of the elect’ will be deceived...!!!

May I suggest, during this next week of Christmas Holiday, that each of us take that ride down the sickening evidence of a depressed economy, praying for The God of Peace to restore that which has become broken, and impress upon our minds an indelible vision of ‘where we really are’, so that when it comes time to vote, and we are bombarded by Obama’s Billion, our minds will see clearly to vote for a change in the presidency and the Senate as well...and show once and for all who the really smart ones are...!!!

Some see the ‘OCCUPIERS’ as prophets...but the true prophets are ‘THE TEA PARTIERS’, who, early on, saw what was happening to our dear Nation, and decided to do something about it...Diverse.....consisting of Republicans, Democrats, independents, conservatives, young and old alike, black, white, and every hue in between, Christian, Jew, and Atheist...determined by one motive only...To restore our Nation to the prosperity which it once enjoyed so that our posterity, children and grand children alike may enjoy God’s Blessings as we did...!!!

This is the Season which reminds us that Christ came to bring Peace To Men Of Good Will...

Wise Men still seek Him...!!! The unwise...???

Merry Christmas to ALL this Christmas Season...!!!

David,

That would be a vote for Obama...!!! If we're not sold on any candidate we should have the ability to cast a 'no vote' which would subtract a vote from a candidate...!!!

Thanks,   Fran

Hello Fran.........

Guess you forgot all about the Iraq war that cost us billions in money, untold lives, and of course, IT WAS NOT  PAID FOR.

Keep up your illusions.

The Iraq war was off budget but certainly paid for and the good thing about the way it was paid for is that it helped keep the deficit down since the spending for the war wasn't calculated into the automatic spending increases that baseline budgeting has brought us. Unlike the bailouts that Obama and Bush passed which were incorporated into the next year's budget and part of the reason our deficits are out of control.

Ronald: Wars always have costs...lives, money, etc...What about the untold lives lost through abortion on demand...!!! How many Milton Friedmans were aborted or Louis Pasteurs or George Washingtons or Billy Grahams or Thomas Edisons...???

Walter: I never hear mention of 'the good side' of the Iraq War...Schools built, infrastructure improved, freedom defended, democracy planted, jobs created, etc...!!!

Fran: Really??? While individuals may agree with Tea Party ideas and ideals, the wealth of Tea Party leaning Republicans who were elected to Congress and will not work with their own party leaders has created havoc. We all need to work together and find some compromise in the middle, somewhere. The Iraq War was paid for - by China!

I am not a Johnny come lately to my objections to the war. I reacted to the death and destruction as I believe women and mothers would. (well except maybe Maggie Thatcher). The wars in Afghanistan and Irag heve weakened us financially, and worse, morally. Defending torture of prisoners is shameful. The current administration inherited many, many complicated problems. In many ways Osama Bin Laden won! we are weakened financially, our leaders (especially VP Cheney) were so frightened by the attacks, they excused and advocated heinous behavior by the military and the CIA.

It will take years decades of leadership and statemanship to bring us out of the financial, political and moral crises we currently face. President Obama has learned much and maybe not enough, but the current Republican field does not inspire. Men who accept huge amounts of money, don't bother to register as lobbyists and pass off their (illegal?) behavior as advice or a history lesson are not prepared. Men who sell their government to the highest contributors, the ill informed who claim that a vaccine causes mental retardation, a doctor who suggests that the uninsured should die, men so morally bereft that they think sexual harassment and being unfaithful make great qualities for the leader of the free world, men with ideas so far out of the mainstream that they reject Charles Darwin and support creationism, men who change their minds and convitions with the change in the wind, IMHO, Jon Hunstman has been the only candidate to speak the truth and look where that has gotten him in the polls and he quit his job workling for the curretn President to run against him.

We need serious candidates with serious ideas, not just men and women who will pander to the camera and the audience in front of them. We need leadership, experience and great ideas! Sorry, but I just don't see any of that in this bunch!

Sorry that my first post on your blog was so contrary. Your post certainly got my juices flowing this morning.

Just about every member of congress is wealthy. They can't afford to run otherwise. To blame the 'wealthy' tea party republicans for the house impasse is ridiculous.

The Dems controlled both house and the presidency for TWO years and not did not pass a budget a budget was never offered! Yet the Dems blame the Republicans for blocking budgets....that was never presented.

Mr. Reid claims the Republicans would have filibustered any budget that was presented and the media ran with his claims. Only one problem: All budgets must receive a vote and CANNOT be filibustered!

I am glad the tea party candidates have stood by their beliefs and by the values that got them put into office. Too many deals are made for the sake of 'accomplishing' something.

Anne,

Respectfully, you're looking at the world through 'democrat talking point glasses'...!!!

No one in the history of the United States has taken more political money than President Obama...!!! President Obama has run up more debt that all other Presidents combined...!!!

When a senator from Illinois, Obama voted 'present' innumerable times; he did vote to allow partial birth abortions...!!!

The worst of the Republicans would make a better President, based on experience alone...!!!

I'm glad my blog got your 'juices flowing this morning'...

If it means anything, I think Obama will win reelection, but undeservedly...!!! JMHO,

Thanks,   Fran

Than,

When you're as diverse as the tea partiers, compromise is foolish...!!! When you're as onesided as the occupiers, compromise is a must...!!!

Than, some of these people have their heads in the sand if they cannot see Obama ruining us as a country. You are spot on my friend so I am featuring this on silent majority. Any chance Rick Santorium can pull it off. I like what he stands for.

Mike,

Of all the candidates I would align myself philosophically and politically closest to Santorum, but I don't believe he is as electable as is needed to dethrone Obama...!!! And of course, there's the matter of a billion dollar Obama hope chest...!!! BTW, Hope is a virtue that is God Like, so I will call it Obama's despair chest...seems much more fitting...!!!

Ummm, tell me again who was in the White House when all this shyte was hitting the fan?  During the last month of the Bush Administration wasn't the economy hemorrhaging 750,000 jobs a month?

As I have stated before; The Cato Institute, the CBO and Pew Research puts 750 billion to 1.4 trillion dollars of the current debt on the Obama tab...the other 13 trillion belongs to Bush and Reagan (with 1 trillion attributed to HW Bush and Clinton each).

Why would we want to put THOSE SAME PEOPLE (Republican presidents) in charge again?

Posted by Karl Hess, on The Jersey Shore (Keller Williams Ocean County) 5 months ago

Karl,

There you go using that Obamath again...!!! The 7 trillion dollar loss in real wealth was well into Obamas term and with a democratically controlled House and Senate...!!! That's not some democratic think tank either...that's cold hard cash lost because of failed economic policy...!!!

We have too many layers of government and the Fed layer makes us extremely top heavy...!!!

Clinton's surplus was a direct result of a REPUBLICAN CONTROLLED HOUSE AND SENATE...!!! See how you can use numbers and statistics...!!! Take a ride down Main Street in Anytown, USA and you'll see the results of an Obama administration...closed businesses, vacant buildings, foreclosures, short sales, bankruptcies...And with Obamacare still on the back burner, the worst is yet to come...!!!

Thanks,   Fran

So the housing bubble and bust are dems faults? Really? So all the good economic times were caused by a Republican Congress and all the bad economic times were caused by either a Democratic President and/or a a Democratic Congress...Is that really what you're saying?  So the deregulation of the banking industry which is really at the core of our current economic meltdown had nothing to do with Republicans? It wouldn't be Gramm-Leach-Bliley? Really?

One more question: How many budgets did Bush veto?  And if we want to use 'pork spending' as a barometer of fiscal restraint, who broke the record, three years in a row for earmarks?  Oh, that would be the Republican controlled House and Senate.

The biggest contributors to the ballooning debt since 2002 are two wars, the Bush tax cuts and lost revenues due to the economic collapse...NOT significant increases in discretionary spending.

BTW, Pew Research, the CBO and Cato are hardly 'liberal.'

Posted by Karl Hess, on The Jersey Shore (Keller Williams Ocean County) 5 months ago

Karl,

A common mistake everyone makes, including myself, is to play the 'blame game'...very counterproductive...Why don't we agree that both Republicans and Democrats share blame, and begin to discuss how we FIX it...

First of all, how do tax cuts raise debt...it's OUR money to begin with...!!! We the people should decide what taxes should be, then our civil servants can BUDGET that amount and apportion it accordingly...!!!

Aha, here's where politics get involved...I've given up Kool Aid, and I'm only drinking tea these days...!!!

Thanks,   Fran
