Christian Real Estate Professionals : Home Sweet Home

Home Sweet Home

There's nothing like Home Sweet Home. After a 10-day vacation, I was looking forward towards coming home. As I walked into the house, I realized my home is never perfect, never tidy or clean but I love it far better than the nicest and fanciest hotels I could ever sleep in.

When a home is temporary, it never feels like yours.

Relating this back to my Sunday God First post, that's exactly fitting to my topic today.

Our place here on earth is only temporary. We don't belong here and as Christ-followers, the ways of the world are certainly not our ways. We've been called for higher and better.

In the secular world, I've heard a definition of INTEGRITY - It's about what you do when no one is looking.

As business owners and entrepreneurs, we are constantly bombarded with opportunities to choose: the higher or the easier way. If you remember that this place is just your temporary home, no matter how much wealth you could accumulate in this world, you can't take it to your permanent home.

Instead Jesus said, For where your treasure is, there will be your heart also.

Spend time to accumulate those things that you can take it with you in your treasure chest when the Lord calls you home.

In the mean, the Lord didn't call for you not to enjoy your temporary home. Make it however you like but remember that this is only your temporary home.

Scripture of the week:

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
            declares the LORD.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Isaiah 55:8-9

I begin my week here on Active Rain with my God First posts, written every Sunday once a week. My promise to you is that the messages I share will be day-to-day related, often times related to real estate. If these topics are important to you also, I'd love for you to subscribe to my blog.

God First posts every Sunday

Great point Loreena about this temporal existence is our temporary home and our permanent home is with our Father in heaven. Welcome home to you and the gang. I'm sure it feels good.....

Loreena,

We are often in need of that simple reminder, that this world is not our home, not for those of us who have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. Thanks, and the analogy is quite fitting, I think.

Loreena, Getting away is wonderful therapy to help us appreciate being home and also to be able to look

beyond this physical existence that we are all in right now.

Loreena, like you returning home is just a wonderful feeling..always appreciate being away but it is never like coming home to family & what is important- not the trappings of the success but what is in the heart & soul!

Exactly! I said to a friend at church yesterday, "you know we live in a major metro area with millions of people around us. This church is my small town and you are my neighbor. BUT, we are still just here for a little while."

I hope heaven has beaches and dogs. Probably so, since God clearly likes beaches and dogs.

I agree, that no matter how nice it is to be on vacation enjoying a break from the pressures of work and everything else, coming back to your home or in our case an apartment building always feel great.  You can't replace that feeling.
