Christian Real Estate Professionals : The Art of Servanthood

The Art of Servanthood

Zig Ziglar's quote, You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want. It's tried and true especially in the service industry such as ours: real estate.

It's always refreshing to hear a new client come up to you at the end of your first meeting to tell you, "I've worked with many realtors(R) before but I've never met one with doesn't have a pushy attitude. That's what I most appreciate about meeting you".

With that, it made the 4 1/2 hours under the hot Frisco TX 102 degree weather sun all that more worth it.

I hope the scripture of this week rings true in your professional life too:

Scripture of the Week:

Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.

1 Corinthians 9:19, 23

My love language is Acts of Service. There is no greater joy than to know I have served with everything that I had without expecting anything in return.

Make it a great week for the Lord! And soak in His richness today.

I begin my week here on Active Rain with my God First posts, written every Sunday once a week. My promise to you is that the messages I share will be day-to-day related, often times related to real estate. If these topics are important to you also, I'd love for you to subscribe to my blog.

Thanks for your post, I have always been proud of my mid-western work ethic, but it does really come down to helping others achieve their dreams.

That is so true.  Everytime I give more than I have to, it always comes back around in one form or another.  Going the extra mile and putting your heart and soul into every transaction will build your business faster than anything.  Great scripture!  Thanks for sharing!

The greatest among us Loreena is the one who serves the most. There is a Karma thing in the universe about giving. It does come back to us in some form. A cause and effect for sure.

I'm so glad your clients expressed their appreciation for your servant heart! I'm sure all your clients appreciate that about you, Loreena, but some may not say so.  :)

Matt. 28:27-28 "...and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave; just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."--SO thankful for His servant's heart and life!! :)

This is a great reminder to try to stay humble. I admit that it is not always easy for me but I do try. You are a very thoughtful and good person and I'm glad we're friends.

The thing that I like the most about servanthood, Loreena, is that it puts all of us on the same level, no matter what capacity we are serving in.

Sonja - great scripture. Commission is great but the words of appreciation from the clients are even sweeter.
