Things to Do in Charlotte NC - 46th Annual Festival in the Park
What are you going to be doing September 23 - 26 in Charlotte NC? Mark your calendar for the festival that Charlotteans look forward to each year (and have since 1964)! The festival where we all congregate in the fall for the art, music, shopping and carnival-style food, is one of Charlotte's favorite events of the year. Charlotte's 46th annual FESTIVAL IN THE PARK is this month--beginning in a short 10 days! Festival in the Park is held at Freedom Park in the Dilworth/Myers Park area off of East Boulevard.
Come one, come all! Join in the fun at Freedom Park!
Visitors from around the world join us for the sounds of big band music, delicious food, children playing in the park and talented artists from all over the world join in, creating a relaxed atmosphere for the entire family. The Festival continues to grow each and every year! The big Camelot style tents surround the lake and the lights' reflection on the lake boasts the peaceful, still waters as you listen to the sounds of music and children's excitement as they have their faces painted or enjoy the magic show!
Over 100,000 visitors are expected at the annual event this year and over 150 artists and craftsmen and women will proudly display their talent. Each year, I manage to find many items that I just can't chose from and find many gifts for my family and friends here. You can't find the talent that you find here anywhere else either!
The scents of food fill the air as you traverse the sidewalk surrounding the lake, stopping along the way to see the clown show, listen to your favorite new up and coming musician or purchase the hottest new artist's work! There are clown stages, magician stages, musician stages and little shops along your path. Even going around the lake for a second round is expected at Festival in the Park Charlotte NC! Nearly 1,000 entertainers provide ongoing shows at the main stage and many of the surrouning stages and tents for your enjoyment.
Voted as a BEST 200 Festival by Sunshine Artists Magazine, this wonderful event for all ages is fun, educational, and it's free! You simply can't beat the good time you will have at Charlotte's 46th annual Festival in the Park! Mark your calendars now for this exciting event!

Thanks to Julie and the staff at Festival in the Park for permitting me to use the media contained in this post! I hope you have a great event this year--I'm sure it will be better than before--just as it always is!

This sounds like so much fun, can Vegas Bob come!
That's a cool banner. You make that?
Hi Debe... this looks like a very fun event. This post also answers the question I had about whether it was Charlotteans or Charlottites! :)
Good evening Debe,
Wow this is a great Localism post, this event sure sounds like fun! Love the banner also..okay spill the beans..how did you do this one? Great job Debe!!
VB: Of COURSE you can come! Bring your lovely wife too! It's one of Charlotte's most popular events--you'll surely have a great time!
Jeff: Yes, it is, isn't it?! The Festival in the Park folks made it (see disclosure) but, I'm dying to know how--I can think of a million uses for that!
Steve: Thanks! It is--my favorite of the year (that and the Green Festival, and of course, the Panther and Bobcat games--especially when they win)! And, yes, we're Charlotteans! Hubby is one of the few native Charlotteans--little known fact!
Debi - The festival in the park sounds like it would be fun. I wish I lived closer I would go check it out.
Dorie: You're too funny! The folks at Festival in the Park provided the flyer and the header for me! They use it on their site and I asked permission (see disclosure) but, I could sure use that knowledge (if I can get it) as to how to do those--I love it!
Debe,
I use to love the Festival in the Park. I grew up close to Freedom Park.
Sis, I would LOVE to come to the Festival in the Park. I love events like that and the artists that are showcased. If you go, eat some of that great food for me too!
I love Festival in the Park. The picture over my mantel was purchased at Festival in the Park many years ago. What a great event at a beautiful location. Great post.
Larry: Come join VB and I this year!! It's great fun and would bring back some great memories for you, I'm sure!
Sis: Well, come join us! What are you waiting for? An invite? You KNOW you're always welcome!
Robin: Me too! One of my favorite times of the year is the fall--the festival always seems to bring in the fall with lots of good times had by all--and lots of great art work to boot!
I LOVE the banner too - this sounds like an amazing event. You presented it well, as always!
This sounds like a great time to be had. International eh! Wonder how people all over the world got to hear about it. Must have great word of mouth. You have done a great job of presenting it, Debe.
Hey Debe- I have plans that weekend or I would surely join you! Have fun!
Sounds like a cool event, nice shout out to the neighborhood. I don't know how much fall you folks get down there, but we here in the North are having all our fall festivals right now....lots of good food too
