So here's the Deal. I was at the REBarCamp in San Diego when this idea came up. I'm really excited to see it all came together. We sometimes take for granted all that we have, and all that we acquire in life. For me personally, when I see the difference that one person can make in the lives of others, it's very enlightening and it gives me hope, faith, and the inspiration to get up and do something to help.
My hat's off and my heart goes out to Rocky, her family, and those she's helping in Kenya. She's putting hope back into the lives of complete strangers. When people are touched and moved by efforts like hers, there's an unspoken motivation and inspiration to do things like this. Thanks to each of these people, these companies, and YOU for sharing that inspiration and bringing "Hope" to a world that can really use it in these trying times.
The greatest gift we can give to another is not just money, it's our support, our time, and our desire to make the world a better place in whatever small way we can. Making a difference in the world is my mantra (notice the header on my blog) but the best way to "enjoy the journey" is by helping others any way we can, at least that's my experience.

I bet there are some dandbagger waiting to pounce on this. Just now it is only at $1725 and looking at the list of contributors, it reminds me of the old days of the Yankees in the 20's. Those are some heavy hitters.
What a great cause. Poverty comes from hopelessness and lack of opportunity. They are giving a gift that is a lifetime gift, beyond just money. Congratulations to them for being the bigger picture.

WooHoo! So far, the bid is up to $1875.00, this will at least put one girl in Kenya through High School. There are still 2 days left so I am hoping and have faith that we will at least double the current bid. Imagine the difference we're all making in the lives of these girls.
You know Brad, your post...when it was loading up.... unfolded like a premiere to a Hollywood movie. Then, the contents (the story) that was presented was a worthy one. I have no trouble imagining or believing that I am that person in Kenya hoping for a break.....Thank you for calling this to our attention. Well done
