In Part 1 of The Truth About Section 8, (a housing voucher program intended to assist low income earners), revelation was uncovered that exposed some of the the dangers from long term usage. This is part 2 of 3.
Many will disagree with this truth and attempt to back it up with assailing justifications in support of defending some of the users of the vouchers Excuses and concluding arguments do not nullify the debilitating harm done from the repetitive usage of this habit. GOD did not intend for man to be dependent upon the government. HE made him to be a productive contributor! There has to be a better way - and there is!
The faithful wounds of a friend who tell the truth are very uncomfortable and at times, painful, but it's the TRUTH that will cause one to be released from a lifelong formidable habit. The "truth" is that GOD, being a jealous GOD, abhors His people being in dependence upon a system founded upon the "prince" of this world!! It disgusts HIM to see HIS people behaving in idolatrous ways, such as feeding upon the crumbs of a "SECTION" when HE HIMSELF is the "WHOLE"!
In every generation and in every season there has been a time to lose and a time to gain. Allowing the government to come to the rescue with a band-aid will thwart the purposes of destinies and tie the very hand of GOD HIMSELF, who is strong, able, capable, willing, AND mighty!! HE NEVER fails! In a time such as this, GOD wants HIS people to look to HIM! HE always was and is yet in control! What will happen when this system fails? WHEN will we start to completely TRUST God?? When HE comes, will HE find any faith here? Are you one of the "JUST"??
Believers in GOD need to get off this hindering program. There are untapped creative channels resident in the people of GOD that will remain blocked as long as they allow this unclean stronghold to govern them! GOD-given Gifts (which have been neglected) will make room for the believer and place them before great men once they let go! The whole world has been seeking answers and solutions. Some of these answers have been lying dormant... stifled, hidden, and subdued under these bureaucratic government subsidies. If you are a child of GOD sipping on that tainted teat, ducking your purpose and these words are speaking to you.... RUN - DON'T WALK - GET OFF!

Diane, most need help at some point in their life, but there is a big difference between help and dependency, and unfortunately Section 8 has become a dependency for many, in stead of the short term help that it should be. Dependency is like a thief, it robs those who are dependent of what they can achieve.
George: This is so true, we ALL need help, but not dependency... and you've captured it rightly by saying "It is like a thief... it robs those who are dependent of what they can achieve" In part 3, i plan to share alternatives. Thanks for tuning in!
So true Diane...while working at the FHA Resource Center a few years ago, I had so many calls flooding in from people wanting to know how to get on the program. It took them over eighteen months to do so many times. The reason? Well, in most cases it was due to the client having to go back and start hiding income, hiding assets, etc. to qualify for the program. I will say they were persistent, but also not ethical in doing so. My job was to answer any questions concerning section eight questions, and many more regarding how to obtain an FHA loan. Great post as usual...I agree, get off, get out and get a job, be responsible for your family, and put your affairs in the hands of God.
Bob, thank you for your contribution. Having had first hand knowledge, i can imagine the stories you've heard! My appeal is a plea for conversion.... for those with an ear to hear. I believe those than succeed in severing themselves from it will become ideal recruits, becoming examples as they experience freedoms and gain back their lost self respect.
God created all people equal and we shall have equal housing opportunity. Where there is a government over the land. God wants us to abide by the laws of the land,why should we be out casted for accepting the help of the government. He also wants does not like those who oppress others. There are too many wealthier people who live in nice bigger houses than they will ever need. Taking up more space on Gods land,while many families had been stuffed into housing projects that look like concrete prision camps. Do you think God sees it fit for his people?
Or does that nightmare of the housing that the government provided really matter? Is it really that there is a war of the classes? Which that wouldn't be Godly at all! Superiority is of the devil. God's only beloved son Jesus loved us all the same. He did not put one over the other. Bank accounts and corporate status wouldn't matter to him at all. When judgement day comes,we all will be Judged. Noone is exempt!
Man is supposed to follow,Jesus's principles. That means the men that govern the land have a moral obligation to give the poor opportunities just as they have. Now many of the higher class who watched homelessness go on in their backyards and felt it wasn't their problem.Many are in a desperate situation because of the recession. I see too many vacant homes some once occupied by the greedy(greed is of satan),I see too many homes for sale at ridiculous amounts that is very unreasonable. I see a lack of avaliable homes that will rent or sell to the low-incomed family. Of course the people that seem to bring problems with them by living unclean lifestyles make it harder for the ones who are God's good people. And truthfully most of Gods people are poor! they serve him whole heartingly whether they live in a shack on a dirt road or in a big mansion with streets paved with gold.
What hinders anyone is when a person on the HCV program formely section 8,has to deal with the stigma that they need government assistance. The naysayers point and they say this and that,hinder the spirits of that voucher holder by denying them any really decent place.
Just to be right in the eyes of the government which governs them,they say they don't discriminate. But this is far from true and God doesn't approve anyone discriminating against his children. We are all Gods people but some tend to let Satan be their step father with all there wicked ways. How can a society watch people live in deplorable conditions and do nothing but complain about the hand that is helping.
You may think that a certain group of people don't deserve to have a nice home in a quiet suburb where they can raise their kids. The children get educated in a better system and become the future doctors and lawyers and even the next Presidents of America. And they can go to work without their house being broken into again. Or they can have a nice backyard to have a barbaque instead of a vacant lot full of debris. This isn't all of the lower incomes pain and hardships,but thank God their is a government program to help them out of those supressing neighborhoods. God will deliver his people from poverty.
We got to do more than worry about dependancy,cause everyone is dependant on something. We are infact all interdependant.

I wanted to add. I trusted God when I had no one. I know only he will provide. If that is being on a government program to assist in living and providing support for my children. I whole heartly accept he will make a way. He will deliver his people cause he is a God of love. I love him althou I am not perfect. But please don't let poverty be a crime. I pray that he continues to bestow his blessings on my family and take us places we never thought possible. I pray that he touches the spirit of someone right now and llets them feel good about leasing to a family like mine.
Facing the challanges of a marketplace that shuns the lower income,I am against all odds but I got my God who is bigger than any issue I ever faced. I came across your blog after being intimidated into believing that I will never find any where to live. I face homelessness, I have to leave the place God provided me after more than 10 years of prayer to get where I am. My challange is to stay on the government program I haven't even reached 5 years on. I am not doing so just to think I will be dependant for the rest of my life,only this is a stepping stone to the next level.
I guess the devil has been testing my faith lately,being a woman and a mother. I know that their is only so much I can do. I know that so many people have negative assumptions about you. But I know that God knows who I really am.
One day I will have my Real Estate license too,and I will be able to find better housing for my family. Blessed with new skill and knowledge my plans will come to reality. I don't want to ever be in a position where I have to feel intimidation. I know that my family deserves to continue to live together in peace and harmony.
