Never view Valleys and Mountaintops the same way again

The Noticer by Andy AndrewsI recently read this book, The Noticer by Andy Andrews - as recommended by Dave Ramsey. Dave Ramsey gave a "thumbs up" for this book.

The most profound thing I read about this book is about PERSPECTIVE. And the most profound example of a PERSPECTIVE from the book was about Mountaintops and Valleys.

"Jones" - a character of the book explained to Andy during his lowest point in his life:

Everyone in the world strive for the mountaintops. It symbolizes success and everyone wants to be successful - whatever each individual's definition is. However, at the mountaintops, the air is thin. It is hard to breathe and definitely nothing much grows in the mountaintops.

He explained further, but when you are at the mountaintops, you begin to look down at the valleys. The valleys symbolize the "low points" in our lives. The valleys are green and lush, so full of life, growth and potential. Yet, no one thinks about the valleys or wants to be in the valleys.

Cameron Highlands is one of the most beautiful mountain/ valley scenery in MalaysiaThe character "Jones" also shared that Mountaintops shouldn't be our final destination. It should be a temporary spot and take advantage of the place we are at - the "height" where we could see everything with a good view. Where our vision could go the furthest. Use the mountain top as another launching pad for our next destination/ goal/ vision in life.

To get to your next mountaintop view, sometimes you need to go through some valleys before you head up again.

Isn't life beautiful? Yes, we can celebrate life even in a valley. There is nothing shameful about being in the valley.

To end this story, I will include a freebie from my pastor's sermon this weekend. While in the valley, it is your attitude that will take you out. Otherwise, you might be in the valley wandering for a long time.

Isn't real estate wonderful? It can teach so much. The valleys and the mountains.
