If you're visiting Charlotte, you simply must take a tour through historic Myers Park, via Queens Road. In this historical community, some of the city’s grandest homes can be found, framed by a canopy of massive, old willow oaks.
Myers Park Charlotte NC emerged from a large cotton farm in 1911, when landscape architect John Nolen was hired to create a “garden suburb” on the outskirts of the city. John Nolen & others, including Earle Sumner Draper, used the winding paths, following the natural landscape to create, what many think is now Charlotte's most beautiful community. Most of the historic homes in Myers Park reflect the Classic style from traditional brick Georgians to English Tudor. And, there's nothing 'outskirts' about Myers Park these days either! Charlotte's fabulous Uptown is mere minutes from Myers Park.
In recent years, upscale condominium buildings have been erected along the Myers Park - Selwyn Avenue corridor and are several are still being built. Historic Fourth Ward is comprised of the the northwest quadrant of Charlotte's Uptown area which was resurrected in the mid-1800s and was one of the more prosperous areas of town, providing homes to local merchants, physicians and ministers. Ahh...the Elizabeth community in the spring is simply gorgeous!
