I was debating on whether my post this Friday should be on something illustrating the total insufficiency and inadequacy of the recent ‘BUDGET CUTS' enacted by Congress, or something positive relating to ‘HOLY WEEK', which, for most Catholics, and other Christians as well, signifies some of the holiest days in the Church Year...!!!
WELL...'HOLY WEEK' won the day...'WHOLLY WEAK', which is how I describe some of the cowardly politicians in Washington will have to wait for another day...FOR...
Even though I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN, my primary allegiance and citizenship is in HEAVEN...
That is where I and most Christians hope to spend ETERNITY...!!!
And that is what HOLY WEEK is all about...
It is a short retelling of the GOOD NEWS...
That JESUS was born, lived, and died for all mankind, and thus paid the price, once and for all, for the sins of our first parents...AND...
By rising from the dead on Easter Sunday prepared the way for every Christian who was to follow His Teaching...Or for anyone who lived before who lived in the Hope of His Coming, to experience the Joy of ETERNAL LIFE...
In short...That IS THE GOSPEL, or GOOD NEWS which we celebrate during HOLY WEEK and THE EASTER TRIDUUM...!!!
JESUS IS RISEN...HE IS TRULY RISEN...!!!
