Always Take A Day Off...!!!

Last week I wrote a post entitled, "Never Take The Day Off"...  

Regardless of what I said in that post, I'm recanting every word right here and now...  

Not really...you see, last week while taking a 'snow day' off, I encountered some plumbing problems at home which caused some unforeseen and perhaps unnecessary repair expenses...  

This week, however, I intentionally decided to take Sunday off...at least from blogging and commenting and Active Raining...  

What with a couple of sick boys around the house, some Spring like weather providing a window of opportunity for some needed quickie winter repairs outside, and a visit from our newest granddaughter, Marin Rachel, Sunday just seemed like an appropriate day to rest...  

Now I at least got a glimpse of why Scripture says that on the 7th day God rested...  

Of course we all know that by definition God doesn't need any rest...Scriptures perhaps give us a model upon which to style our lives...  

So setting aside that millenia-old time-tested once a week day of rest still seems to work for most people and civilizations...  

Unlike God, we humans need to establish and maintain priorities, else our lives become topsy turvy, lopsided, unbalanced, out of kilter or whatever other terms you'd care to apply...  

I see now why just setting aside a couple of hours to worship the Lord and leaving the rest of the day open for The Lord to minister to us is a befitting way to SPEND A SUNDAY...!!!
