The word 'Gospel' literally means 'Good News'...and rightly so...for what better news is there than 'God so 
loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.'
The fact that 'mortal' humans are given the opportunity to share in 'eternal life'...is great news...!!!
That kind of news should be shouted from the rooftops everywhere on Earth...!!!
That is more than 'good news'...that is great news...the greatest news possible...!!!
And so, when we got the news from our accountant that we would get a sizable refund in federal taxes, we were elated to the point of tears! We needed good news and we got better news...!!!
Oh, be sure, we will celebrate (after we receive our tax refund check), but the greatest news for us immortals who follow an immortal God...is still immortality and Eternal Life with Him...!!!
