I have a praise report to share and I promise you that this is NOT a religion post - although it stems from it. The gist about this post is truly SEO-motive driven.
I start off my week with a God First post every Sunday. Several weeks ago, I wrote about My God is My CEO in one of my Sunday God First posts. Coincidentally, the title of my post was also a very well-known book written by Larry Julian. It also ranked higher than Larry Julian's very own website. Earlier this week, I drafted a blog post for Reading recommendations (that I have not posted). I googled the title of this book, My God is My CEO and I found a pleasant surprise.
My God is My CEO post showed up highest on Google Ranks (#1 spot) above Amazon's title for the book. As you can imagine, I was almost jumping sky high in my office that afternoon.
So, why am I so happy?
(1) The power of SEO
Now, I've been an ardent fan of SEO. I find it not difficult to do once I understood what I was doing. Then staying on top is the next excitment in my life. I also learnt so much from Katerina Gasset's SEO to the TOP webinar last Spring and I continue to apply the lessons that I learnt in building my new website. By the way, my current website is on Google Page 1 and 2. On some short tail keywords, even my new website (2 months old) have been top spots on Google Page 1. Google continue to index my new website. Believe it or not, I go back to listen Katerina's recorded SEO classes in the background as I work instead of listening to music or the news. I know, I know... I am weird.
I can't wait for Katerina's SEO Bootcamp in the fall. And for those of you who wants to learn about SEO, talk to Katerina. Remember, if you have a website or a blog, that doesnt mean people will call you.
(2) The glory that works only in HIM alone
Now, if you don't want to read anything about religion, you can move on now. The reason I am truly so excited is because of the thought of people who wanted to buy this book, My God is My CEO and when they google this title, they find my blog in top spot - above the Amazon listing. Can you imagine those who were seeking this book may read my blog post. And in my blog post - although real estate related, they may hopefully find my story uplifting in their situation.
Chances are strong that those who are looking for this book are also small business owners or corporate professionals. For them, the thought of them able to stumble to the content of my post through the title is can only be a God-thing. In this particular post, I want to make myself tiny so that the Voice of God speak loudly. I view my role here on Active Rain, especially when I write my inspirational and motivational posts, when I write transparent stories about myself - all I truly want is to see the works of my Heavenly Father through my writings. I am clearly just a vessel but I can speak God's hope.
That's why I was super-excited. My heart is not to rank higher than the author who sold millions of copy of his hard work. My heart is to tout my Heavenly Father's glory. And He chose to do it through SEO this time.
How divine!
Katerina smiled when I shared this story with her. She knows too.
