Rich Man, Poor Man...Common Sense And The Bible...!!!

Normally, when we consider 'common sense', we think of concepts like 'gut reaction', 'street smartness', 'instinct'...unwritten and almost innate qualities...BUT...

The Bible is an excellent compendium of 'common sense'...More should read it and glean wisdom and true knowledge and truth...!!! It is more than 'just a book'...it is a LIBRARY...and its Author is impeccable...!!!

Now, one should be cautioned about plucking out verses to serve a particular purpose for personal gain, but when taken in context, The Bible is rife with down to earth examples of 'common sense'...FOR EXAMPLE...

We hear Jesus on many occasions address the POOR and the RICH...

Have you ever heard Him mention the 'MIDDLE CLASS'...

He reminds us, 'The poor you shall always have with you'...of course, He expects us to confront poverty and the 'poor', not ignore these things...

When JESUS speaks of the RICH, He DOES NOT condemn them, BUT He DOES caution and encourage them to be good and accountable stewards of their TIME, TALENTS, and TREASURES...!!!

Now, we've already had one useless 'War on Poverty' thanks to President Lyndon Johnson...and now President Obama wants to eliminate POVERTY...

But, instead of 'GROWING WEALTH' so it can be taxed and distributed fairly and freely, the president is trying to eliminate POVERTY by eliminating wealth...rather bass ackwards, don't you think...???

Where will we be when WEALTH IS ELIMINATED and only POVERTY REMAINS...???

Great...!!! Then we can eliminate taxes completely because there won't be any CAPITAL to tax, or to buy anything with, including food, shelter, and clothing...!!!

Mr. President, respectfully, you're the tail wagging the dog...you got it all backwards...

If all blessings come from God, and I firmly believe they do, what right does government have to unfairly take from that pool of capital that which was intended to be distributed freely, generously, and from the heart, as thousands of philanthropists have historically done for centuries...

That's right, Mr. President, eliminate all capital, all capitalists (all of us), and all philanthropists...THEN...

We won't even need a tin cup when there is no one left to beg from...!!!

Some advice to President Obama: Concentrate your efforts on growing wealth, making everyone rich, then all your other problems will be taken care of...and we'll have to search high and low for the poor...!!!

Oh, and by the way, Mr. President, have you read the two documents that Pope Benedict gave you on your recent visit...???

Social justice and bioethics will certainly serve you well if you're sincere about healing America...

Or do you have another agenda...???
