While people world wide are constantly keeping vigilance for the appearance of The Antichrist, meanwhile the spirit of Antichrist is alive and well and has been influencing world politics and immorality for many 
years now...CENTURIES...!!!
The only institution that has survived for 2000 years is The Catholic Church...nations have come, nations have gone, likewise, so have societies, governments, and ages appeared and disappeared...Heresies, scourges, dictators, barbarians, and even benevolent monarchies have come and gone...Oh, some, from time to time try to raise an ugly head and make reappearances, but are soon discovered to be FALSE...movements such as Arianism, Gnosticism, Dualism, and such were so deeply rooted and filled with the spirit of Antichrist that they haven't yet been completely eliminated from society, and, in fact, they send out shoots that spawn new Antichrist attempts to thwart Christianity.......which...is the ultimate goal of Antichrist...
All this should not leave us perplexed...there is a simple and very forthright explanation...
Jesus said to Peter, "Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I shall build my Church"...you recall that passage, right?
But do you remember the passage that immediately follows...???
"...And the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it." Against what? MY CHURCH...!!!
Now, take a deep breath, relax, and absorb this simple, but profound TRUTH...
Consider this: Doesn't a prayerful and careful reflection of that passage imply that 'The Gates of Hell', the spirit of Antichrist, would continue to perpetually attack THE CHURCH throughout its existence...??? We should understand that when we are attacked, the attacks are coming from the 'gates of hell', the spirit of antichrist...
And so we've had Martyrs, anti-popes, heresies, scandals, crusades, modernism, etc. which have evidenced the spirit of Antichrist, and the 'Gates of Hell' that Jesus warned us about...!!!
But Jesus's constant reminders to his disciples to 'Be Not Afraid'...'Fear Not'...along with His Promise in the above quoted passages that ASSURE survival...OUGHT TO GIVE US GREAT HOPE AND CAUSE FOR REJOICING...!!! (they shall not prevail...that's right...in the end, we win)
One of the primary MOs of liberal progressives is personal attacks on any who oppose their views and ideologies...
The sin of 'DETRACTION' is one of the worst acts of 'hate'...it is the attempt to ruin or tarnish another's reputation...now get this...EVEN IF the information is true...!!!
These attempts to thwart THE TRUTH must, must, must take the form of personal detraction...attacks on SUBSTANCE (TRUTH) are futile because of JESUS's own PROMISE reiterated above...
Today, we celebrate Palm Sunday or Passion Sunday...Let us begin this HOLY WEEK and end this Holy Week rejoicing over the victory OUR LORD has won over all these things...that's right, the Victory is ours...the spirit of antichrist is frustrated...he wins battles, but loses wars...!!!
