I was flabbergasted when I heard that President Barack Obama was to receive the Nobel Prize for peace!
Until now, I knew very little about the prestigious award. But to bestow such an award on one who so frequenly voted for partial birth abortion, a totally brutal medical procedure signifying anything but peace, caused me great anguish. Not to mention the very violent nature of the type of socialist agenda espoused by President Obama and other proponents of socialist ideals such as his. So I decided to do a little of my own research on the coveted prize given to many by the Norwegian organization which is the legacy of Alfred Nobel's last will and testament...!!!
What I discovered was illuminating. I was not surprised to see names such as Martin Luther King Jr., Mother Teresa, Henry Kissinger, among others, but I was somewhat taken aback by the LACK of names I had presumed to be included in the list...names such as Winston Churchill, Ronald Reagan, Pope John Paul II, Gandhi, Margaret Thatcher, Anwar Sadat, and even Bill Clinton and Dorothy Day, were just some names not to be found anywhere on the lists of Nobel recipients...just to name a few...
The presence of such individuals as Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, and now Barack Obama, for me at least, diminished the importance of making the list and certainly calls in question the possible 'hidden agendas' of the organizers bestowing such awards on behalf of their originator, Alfred Nobel...!!!
Just some food for thought this Christmas season from a devoted American Christian seeking and praying for real and true peace for all men of good will...!!!
