Transformation From Wants To Needs...!!!

The American lifestyle is pregnant with wants, desires, career ambitions, pursuits of pleasure, selfish leanings, etc...  

With a recession deeply upon us, we are beginning to separate our 'WANTS' from our 'NEEDS'...Recession is tough on people, families, businesses, institutions, finances...but there is a 'good' side of recession...It gets us to shift our focus from wants to needs...from self to others...  

Do you know what 'NEED' (read 'urgency') is...  

As I sat relaxing in my favorite easy chair, I watched, as my 5 year old daughter, Ashley played for hours outside without even a hint of need to go to the bathroom or the need to eat or the need to come inside to get warm...UNTIL...  

Her bladder, like an overfilled balloon, succumbed to natural influences and filled to straining capacity...all in an instant...and I heard the front door open quickly, I heard Ashley take three fast shuffle steps to the bottom step of the long staircase to the closest bathroom, sit intently and purposefully there...and strain to collect herself with legs held tightly together to place her body in control of that screaming bladder...

Get the point...?  

Seconds later, when she regained control of the situation, she flew like a bat out of he_ _ to the bathroom...  

Minutes later, I could see her smiling face, little hand on the front door knob, relief in her eyes and on her face, and a gigantic ear to ear smile as she opened the door to resume another couple of hours of playing hard...  

ASHLEY just taught her Daddy a lesson in separating 'NEED' from 'WANT'...!!!
