Memorial Day Memories...Mowing, Mulching, Manicuring, And Munching...!!!

If you want to know what kind of Memorial Day Holiday I had and you don't have much time just reread the title to this post and move on to another...BUT...

If you want to hang around and kibitz, read on...!

Our weekend started Friday night with mowing the two acres...fresh from the repair shop, the newly tuned Scag Tiger Cub purred like a kitten...

Friday night we lost a close Little League game under the lights, but I had the opportunity to sit with an old friend, Bill Kronmuller...the best brick or stone mason east or west of the Mississippi...we shared some fond memories and Bill rattled off a few of his witty but corny jokes...!!!

Saturday, after a morning of spreading mulch and tree pruning, we travelled to Blandon, Pennsylvania for Emily's 10U softball game...Three hours later, into the muggy afternoon, the game ended in a tie...I'm not sure of the score, but it must have been in the high teens...then dinner and more mulch spreading...

Sunday, of course, started with Mass...Our beloved Pastor Father Bob Quinn is retiring and will be replaced by Father Martin Kerns...Father Quinn will be moving not so far away in nearby Berks County to Mohnton, Pennsylvania...

Later Sunday we prepared three holes for transplanting three bushes my sister is getting rid of...she only lives around the corner from us so all the kids can visit their highly esteemed Aunt Laura frequently...!!!

Monday, we finished up the mulch spreading, transplanted the three bushes my sister gave us, swept up our mess, replaced all the garden tools to their proper homes, and stood back to admire our weekend of yardwork as our achy muscles and joints cried out for mercy...

Needless to say, all weekend, my lovely wife, Benita, supplied us with all the delicious food we could eat...topping it all off yesterday with a delicious dinner of Chicken Fried Steak with all the fixuns...!!!

Of course we never lost sight the entire weekend of the true meaning of Memorial Day as our flag continued to fly and wave high atop our permanently fixed 20 foot pole...

FALLEN, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN...!!!

Hump Day...Down, But Not Out...!!!

So it's Wednesday before the Memorial Day weekend and already everyone seems to be anticipating the Holiday...

My Chiropractor was all booked up...last minute closings being scheduled...while 3 of my kids are now on antibiotics...

Warmer weather coming in, but not ultra humid...my kind of Pennsylvania Memorial Day...

Yes, I did get my Scag Tiger Cub back yesterday...they even tuned the carburetor, so now I'm really anxious to get back on...!!!

Softball game tonight...Little League game on Friday...some gardening and primping on Saturday...just some things to look forward to...

I'm sure there will be opportunities for other exciting ventures...last minute scheduling changes abound with us, but the Title Business has taught me how to handle 'SURPRISES'...fringe benefits, you know...!!!

When it comes to business, however, we take the Holiday Inn approach...NO SURPRISES...

We do our 'home work' so you won't have to worry about yours...!!!

Start getting excited about this Holiday weekend...we celebrate freedom by honoring, respecting, and remembering those who gave their lives in service for all Americans and freedom loving people everywhere...!!!

We may be down, but we're not out...Happy Memorial Day...!!!
