In the Title business in particular, we are plagued with ‘calendar' year, ‘fiscal' year, ‘prior' calendar year, ‘future' calendar year taxes and pro-rations figured accordingly...
In Major League Baseball, Spring Training starts in February, the season starts in early spring, the all star game is played around mid season in July, the season ends in September, playoffs and The World Series take place in October, and the entire season is over well before Thanksgiving arrives.......ALL IN THE SAME ‘CALENDAR YEAR'...SO...
In baseball, there are no references to ‘the 2009-2010' season...Unlike football we need not refer to the 2010-2011 season...the same unfortunately applies to hockey and basketball...all split year seasons...
Oh yes, for teenage baseball aficionados there is ‘FALL BALL', but, even that season is consummated by the time our thoughts turn to The Holidays...!!!
When the World Series Champions of Major League Baseball are decided this year, and hopefully it will be our Philadelphia Phillies, those champions will be 2010 World Series Champions...!!!
