On Monday I finally received my new pizzelle maker...delivered right to my door by old reliable UPS...!!!
For those of you who have never heard of pizzelles (what planet have you been living on), they are Italian inspired cookies that resemble a waffle, only much thinner and crispier...and much more flavorful...
Our recipe contains both vanilla and anise flavoring, as well as anise seeds as insisted by my Mother's own personal recipe...
And Wednesday evening the entire family gathered to engage in the making of these delicious morsels...including Daisy our pet Golden/Yellow...!!!
Actually, Daisy only participated in the 'tasting' portion of the family event...You see, the pizzelle iron instructions called for the first couple of 'cookies' to be discarded...hence...the doggie treats...!!!
Bottom line-------Allowing for inconsistency because of unfamiliarity of product, iron, and technique...
THEY WERE DELICIOSA...!!!
