I am a ‘PRACTICING ROMAN CATHOLIC'...!!!
That's the answer I usually give when asked ‘To what religion do you belong'...!!!
The question should be put more appropriately by asking, ‘What is your Faith'...!!!
And the real answer to that question would be simply stated, ‘I believe in Jesus, my Lord and my God...and I worship Him and try to serve Him OBEDIENTLY through HIS CHURCH'...!!!
Which brings me to the thrust of my post.......'Former Catholics make the worst Christians'...!!!
I don't actually believe that (some of my best friends are former Catholics) although there IS a small element of truth to that statement...
I find that there is often displayed some hate, some vengeance, some animosity, even some bitterness among some ‘former Catholics'...and most of this resentment and hostility is directed at those who practice their Catholicism rather than toward agnostics, atheists, and members of other religions...!!!
Keep in mind that the Church, The Christian Church, which includes Catholics as well as others who proclaim their faith in Jesus, is composed of ‘SINNERS'...Top to bottom...Clergy and Laity...Pope, Bishop, or church member...
Christ came to redeem sinners...and Catholics are among the greatest sinners...!!!
In the end, OBEDIENCE to Christ and His Church is the correct litmus test, and only The Great Chemist in the sky can apply the test...!!!
