Easter...Not A One Day Celebration...!!!

Yes, we commemorate the Resurrection of our Lord on Easter Sunday, the first day of the week...  

But...The Resurrection event effects all times and all places and all persons...forever...AND SO...  

The Church continues its Easter celebration and liturgies for the entire week after Easter Sunday...culminating at Divine Mercy Sunday...IN FACT...  

The Easter Season in the Church's liturgical calendar stretches to Pentecost Sunday...50 days after Easter...and includes the celebration of Jesus' Ascension into heaven and His sending down of The Holy Spirit on Pentecost...!!!  

Although the Easter Season is officially over at Pentecost, The Birthday of The Church, in reality, each day is cause to celebrate these 'EASTER' mysteries...namely, the passion, death, resurrection, ascension, and descent of The Holy Spirit...and the institution of The John Chapter 6Holy Eucharist, the Sacrament of Thanksgiving through which Christ's presence becomes a reality in our lives...!!!  

In short, that is the 'Theology For Dummies' of the whole situation...BUT...  

It just goes to show that the Church is a CELEBRATING gathering of all the faithful, rejoicing in the presence of the Lord at all times...until the end of time...  

That was His promise...It has been carried on for over 2000 years through sinners just like you and me...!!!  

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
