Dear Diary, My Passion Is...
...jumping into life with zest & zeal!

Since Deb wrote her contest announcement, I've been contemplating what I'm going to write about for this particular contest. Everyone knows that I'm pretty transparent about everything in my life and I have shared much of that with you already. So, I began reviewing my list of passions to determine which one I would write about-- I am passionate about my faith, my hubby, my boys, my pets, my family and my friends--those things are a given! I'm passionate about cancer education and prevention, saving money, giving back to the community and education. I'm passionate about doing the right thing...the list goes on and on.
Most of you know
that I live, breathe, work and play in real
estate! The passion that
takes up the most time in my life is
real estate. I wake up in the morning, review the things
(events,
people, etc.) for which I am most grateful and hit the ground,
running--to work on my
day's business plan.In business and my personal life, I am passionate about returning emails and phone calls--that, I guess, is more of a pet-peeve more than a passion! I want to make people feel good and it doesn't feel good to send an email or place a phone call with no response from the recipient.

Making sure that all details are attended to is another passion. Quite possibly to a fault, I make sure that nothing is missed on contracts or inspections that would cause anyone to suffer even the slightest bit of angst. It is my duty as a Realtor® to make certain that my clients are 100% satisfied and I take my duty seriously--from the time I get up in the morning until I go to bed at night! I have to sleep at night and if someone is not happy about something related to their real estate transaction, I am not going to sleep.

Being punctual is also a passion of mine! Your time is just as valuable as mine (an vice versa) and if I am late to meet you, my message is that your time is not as important as mine. This you can count on: unless something absolutely horrible has happened to me (meaning hospitalization or worse!), I am NOT going to be late to our appointment!
What has this passion for real estate done for those in my life? It has given my husband a full time job that he can do as a disabled head-of-household by way of working with me and my team and functioning as our CFO and IT specialist. It pays for my boys to go to college. It keeps a roof over our heads and bread, for which I am so thankful, on our table. It has offered other professionals the opportunity to work with a grounded team who all share, not only the passion but, the principles and ethics of the entire team.
Oh, and it's given me a few (okay, maybe a BUNCH of) gray hairs! And, my diet and exercise regimen leaves alot to be desired. But, hey, all of that is physical and I can live with or overcome anything! (Can't I?!)

My passion for business has taken me to educational opportunities that I never thought I'd partake in--real estate courses that have taught me that this old nurse is now in SALES! What? In college, I never, in a million years, thought that I could be so passionate about a job in sales! Who would have thought that I would make the transition to sales from nursing AND be so in love with my job?!
Certainly not me!

I am passionate about Charlotte NC! I know it probably sounds hokie but, I LOVE my city! There isn't a day that goes by that I don't snap a photograph of something that I love about this gorgeous city. There's something for everyone here of all ages, gender, religion and political views--and I am positively passionate about sharing Charlotte with the world!
I am passionate
about my Rotary Club and the community
service in which we're involved on a weekly basis.
The best part of Rotary is being involved with
like-minded professionals from all across the world who share my
passion for caring, giving and helping.
And, finally,
I am passionate about blogging! Active Rain has completely changed
my
business model--not just the blogging but, the things that I have
learned in this last, critical year in this business--because of being
an active
participant in the Rain. What about that? I am passionate
about Active Rain too! I am passionate about the friends that I have made here in the Rain. Honestly, I never thought that I would partake in such a thing as blogging. I thought Active Rain was a spin-off of Match.com! Like many others, I worried that there would be 'stalkers' that I would have to deal with! Seriously, the friends here have been amazing and I absolutely cannot wait to meet many of them in person! What I think is amazing about social networking is that we, at least here in the Rain, gravitate towards others who share our passions and who value our same principles; because there are so many of us, it's easy to find many just like us!

As you can tell, I'm passionate about almost everything that touches my life! I'm passionate about life itself. But, the one thing that has truly changed my life this past year is that I found this forum, like no other, that has taught me so much about managing my real estate business for which I am so passionate as well!
Moreover, it has given me an outlet for which I work on a daily basis. (Barring a couple of crazy, busy days when I thought I was going to have to be hospitalized because I couldn't log onto AR--is this passion or addiction? You tell me)! My schedule has been modified to incorporate writing about those things in which I am most passionate--and Active Rain has become the vehicle which I use to spread my passion of helping others, whether it be in regards to real estate, charity, family or business. (Those who share my passion for life, business and Active Rain will know exactly what I am talking about)!

My passion consumes me--day and night--in every aspect of my life. I have come to realize that if you're not passionate about anything, then you're truly missing out on life itself. Whether it's insane to do so or not, I choose to jump in with both feet and allow myself to give my heart, mind and soul to whatever aspect of my life needs me at the moment! And, that's how I 'roll'--passionately!'
(THE best Charlotte home search available - no kidding!)
