Bowles Simpson Plan...OR...How To Square BS...!!!
Some months ago, a bipartisan group was commissioned by the Obama administration to analyze our federal budget and make recommendations on how to fix our ginormous fiscal problems...
Lead by Erskine Bowles, a respected Democrat, and Alan Simpson, an equally respected former Republican Senator from Wyoming, the commission would hopefully provide some guidance on how to steer our Country out of its fiscal mess...
Well, several months later, and earlier than anticipated, the commission has spoken...
Although their findings may be a bit too timid for some, nevertheless, it might be a good place to start...
Actually, to take full advantage of their research and deliberations with financial experts, perhaps all that is needed is too 'DEEPEN' the scope of their suggestions by some multiple...maybe squared or quadrupled or even times ten or times twenty...!!!
Spending cuts, budget cuts, reducing the size of government, elimination of some income tax deductions, and some tweaking of social programs including Social Security, are just some of the committee's recommendations...

At first glance, the plan did not appeal to me, but we need to start somewhere...
I hope this effort bears some fruit, but I'm afraid that, like many other good ideas, it will be politicized by the liberal media and frowned upon by those whose self interests might be diminished by the plan...Hopefully, as well, it won't become a victim of demonization and crudely referred to as Obama's BS Plan to fix the economy...!!!
Bottom line...there needs to be much sacrifice across the board...to truly solve our financial woes...!!!
But, just like many other American initiatives, it probably won't take long to 'right the ship' so we can be cruising soundly in the not too distant future...
