Have you had a deal gone bad? You know it in your heart that you have done everything in your power to avoid it? It's out of your control now?
In the past, I would just keep at it until I could almost break the computer screen or pull my hair out. But these days, when things go in ways out of my favor - after I have done my best, I just sit back, stay calm. Realize that in calamity, you cannot think straight.
You might have someone else working on the issue to try to correct it. There's nothing you can do to help the situation. You feel so helpless.
Give the person space. Let him/ her do his/ her job. All your phone calls wouldn't help change a thing so why tie up the phone lines?
When All Else Fail, the next best thing to do is to REMAIN CALM. Calmness is one of life's best teacher.
If you believe things happen for a reason, maybe there's an alternative somewhere for a better outcome. What I couldn't promise you is if it's an outcome that you may want. I know in my experiences, sometimes I don't know why things happen for odd reasons. But given time, the outcome almost always turn out the way it should be.
I am writing this because in our world, listings do go south and transactions cannot close even though we have done ALL the right things at the beginning. I cannot tell you Why it didn't happen. But I could almost bet that there is a reason behind it.
Be STILL. Give yourself some space. Something will click - one way or another.
Many years ago, I was in a difficult situation where I saw no way out. I printed the Serenity Prayer, stuck it on my work board and read it in my heart before I began a day's work. Until today, I still go back to it whenever I face challenges out of my control:
God, Grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
