A careful reading of history will reveal that a 'secular', 'bipartisan', 'government loving', 'one world', 'socialist', and 'progressive' movement began in our Country as early as the
beginning of the 20th Century...
In fact, The Popes of the Catholic Church in the latter years of the 19th Century warned, by encyclicals and pastoral letters, of the impending danger caused by rising materialism, godless totalitarianism, secular humanism, and modernity...and this to the entire Christian world in all hemispheres, all continents, and all Countries...
President Obama, even before he is a Democrat, is one of those self-proclaimed Progressives, a son of the ideology of Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, FDR, Adlai Stevenson, Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, Edward Kennedy, and others...
Some of their heroes are Karl Marx, Josef Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, among others...
For those who espouse progressive ideals there is rarely thanksgiving offered for God's blessings on mankind...there is rather a dissatisfaction they express for all that currently exists...all that is orthodox is rejected...always looking for greener pastures on other sides of the fence besides that side of the fence upon which they stand...GOVERNMENT is the solution to all problems...THERE IS A SONG THEY CANNOT SING...
On the other hand, the groundswell and silent majority of us who stand opposed to these progressive values is rising and starting to permeate throughout our American
society...their song is being heard by the masses...
The values which identify these anti-progressive masses are humility, God-fearing, pro life, anti abortion, freedom loving, patriotic, constitutional, hard working, family centered, generous, selfless, and prayerful...and THESE CAN SING THE SONG...
"THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE, LET US REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT"...!!!
Never stop singing this song, always praising The Lord...!!!
A Song Progressives Cannot Sing...!!!

Fran's Friday Forum...Finding Fodder For February Fulfillment...!!!
My last several posts have been somewhat political in nature, and since we all need a break from that kind of discussion, relax a bit and enjoy some of my ramblings...(random thoughts bouncing around in my
brain)...
First of all, February, because of its shortness, and heralding that the two longest and coldest months of winter are behind us, should be a source of comfort to many, especially in the colder northern States...!!! Just think, Spring is just around the corner...hmmmmm...
Sounds like a great time to show some homes to prospective purchasers...its still a little rough out there, but there should be a sufficient number of potential homebuyers eager to get rid of that 'pent up' demand, and get searching for that 'dream home'...
Interest rates are still very good, and I think lenders will be anxious to do some business as the economy shows some signs, albeit somewhat anemic, of recovering from its long drought...!!!
Anticipation of Springs arrival has always been cause for the creative part of my brain and imagination to perk up and awake from its winter hibernation...
If you're looking for some useful exercise to get involved with, try splitting some firewood...it will get you some fresh air outdoors as well as providing 'seasoned' firewood for NEXT winter...!!!
We get a chance to celebrate Groundhog day, A Superbowl game, Valentines day, President's day, Ash Wednesday, SPRING TRAINING and LIFE...!!!
Let's continue to pray for ALL public officials...and specifically for them to respect life, truth, and the entire citizenry of our great Country, over which they have been given God's Grace to serve...!!!
Have a great weekend...!!!

Ramblings Of A Conservative Catholic Patriot...!!!
So we have listened to our President's first State of The Union message...and are trying to sort things
out...
These are some reflections that are bouncing around in my head:
***I always felt, perhaps presumptuously, that our three branch system of government with its checks and balances and free elections would preclude electing undesirables...Now don't misunderstand me, I'm not targeting only the President here...I'm talking about the John Edwards of the world, the Elliot Spitzers, the Nancy Pelosis, the Al Gores (who couldn't even carry his home State of Tennessee), and although they are not mentioned here, several Republicans also...
***In the 21st Century, it is still easy for slick talkers to appeal to the mob...I recall those wise words of Scripture, "...by their fruits shall you know them..." Show me some fruit...
***Why do we look to politicians to solve our problems...We don't need new laws...With the brain trusts we have in this Country and with the American tradition of service to others, why can't 'Intelligentsia' rally to offer solutions to our problems...or maybe it's the politicians who aren't listening or who don't know how to delegate or trust too much on their own understanding...Surround yourself with competent advisers...
***Our currency proclaims, "In God We Trust", yet we continue to elect godless public servants...our laws are based on the Ten Commandments, but we aren't allowed to display them publicly or mention God in schools...
***We are a Country Who holds unalienable rights to come from God, yet we deny the Right To Life to millions of unborn babies, making the womb one of the most dangerous places to be...We continue to repeat the mistakes of history...much like the slaves who were denied 'personhood', babies in their
Mother's wombs are referred to as 'mere tissue', 'blobs of cells', and 'unwanted pregnancies'...
***We are decaying morally...
***Putting it bluntly...We need a Spiritual and Social Revival to take place...We are at the point where ONLY GOD can clean up the mess we have made...!!!
God have mercy on us and our beloved Nation...!!!

Wordsmithing 101...The Art Of Being President...!!!
On Wednesday, January 27, 2010 we will listen to our President as he delivers his annual
'State Of The Union Address'...
I must say right up front I don't trust the President...He has promised too many things that he hasn't delivered...
People in public service must be held accountable...and modern electronics make it easy to verify accountability...OR...
Have we reached the point in our Country where we can SAY whatever tickles peoples ears, but DO whatever we please...
I have been reminded over the last few days, on several occasions, that the first three words in our Constitution are highlighted and printed in large type for a reason...WE THE PEOPLE...
Washington has forgotten that they are elected to SERVE the rest of us...Republican AND Democrat...
And speaking as a career real estate professional, I feel like my President is trying to sell me the Brooklyn Bridge...and, at a time when getting a commercial mortgage is virtually impossible...
I have also been reminded of the words of President Ronald Reagan which I shall paraphrase here...the larger the government, the less our freedom...
Ronald Reagan was a lousy wordsmith, but he delivered...
President Barack Obama is a great wordsmith, not withstanding his addiction to teleprompters, but, so far, has proven to be a lousy public servant...
A century ago, one who drifted so far from their oath to protect the US from all enemies foreign and domestic, could have been tried for treason...
Barack Obama took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, but seems to be trying everything in his power to change it and bring it down...
Speaking of wordsmithing...what do Massachusetts and Tea Party have in common...???
Those seeking public office ought to ponder that question carefully...and how many who voted for the President are still in denial and unwilling to admit that the CHANGE we got isn't the CHANGE they expected...
Senator elect Scott Brown is a former title agent, and like most good title agents, we know a good President when we see one...!!!
Mr. President, let's create that TRANSPARENCY you promised by first admitting the lousy state of our Union...then let's get about fixing it by remembering that before there was a FEDERAL GOVERNMENT there were STATE GOVERNMENTS...
Put more money into the pockets of the people and less into government experiments...I assure you...
WE THE PEOPLE will fix the problem...YES WE CAN...!!!

Taking life as It comes one day at a time!
Everyone that reads my blog knows I write about my kids from time to time. Matthew is my oldest and takes life in a fast pace know one can keep up with. He decided to become at Pilot and he has made it, tonight he fly's to Athens Ga on a cross country flight to get his twin engine status, and is headed to commercial jet school this summer plus working. Goals to fly a passenger jet or a cargo jet! Going for Caption as fast as he can go! In the processes of going to school in Aeronautics he announced that we are going to be grandparents in July, wait I am way to young to be a grandmother would you please slow down. Matthew takes life as if he has one day to do it all in , I am sure his guardian angle is working overtime and is out of breath. So could you guys please pray for Matthew as he meets each gold and pray for his safety as he sails through the sky. I knew when he walked at 9 months old he was ahead of himself and he hasn't stopped breaking time records yet!!!!! Please pray that God shows Matthew life as he flys by and that he becomes a great dad, he really has grown up, I sometimes feel like he is leaving us behind!
Do People Get Lost In Your Words?
Are you a Google analytics user? If not you should be. How can you gage the success of your website and blogs if you do not understand their effectiveness or better yet what is your intent and what do you want as your end result? Readers...subscribers...$$$$$....Do people get lost in your words?
What I mean by this is the time spent on your site and where the heck are they going after they are filled with your words...do people take action? Meaning...maybe view MLS listings | request a cma or contact you via email or phone? Do they buy a house or request additional services? What is the final outcome, did you achieve your goal? If not...
Add interesting and relevant content! Make a few changes!
I am amazed at how long people will sit on a site especially if it is packed with useful information...and updated frequently..
I've been experimenting..and its interesting in what I have found.
The time people spend on my ActiveRain blog is much higher than any of my other sites. It's my oldest, most active blog and the numbers recently went down..people have spent as long as 12 minutes on my blog and now average 7 minutes....here is what I found.
- I do not post as frequently and am not consistent keeping my content fresh and up to date.
- Posting members only can reduce the time spent by readers especially if you have more consumer readers than active rain readers.
- Getting lazy and not adding a call to action or at least a post signature can affect your bottom line.
- Not adding links to past posts can really get them off your site.
- Less interaction equals less opportunity...it's almost as if I shut the door!
- The length of your post matters...shorter is not always best..if you can't make your point in just a few words.
- My Google page rank dropped by 1 :( now it is a page rank 3
- Fewer contacts = less opportunity =lost income
There is always a duel between my Active rain blog and my real estate website...and when it comes to search engines...my site usually wins at the end...because of Google analytics...I know..that often times...the traffic to my website is directly from ActiveRain. Not a bad lead in....
There are those that will aways criticize this site...there will be those that never will understand the true value of the network...and there are those well who are gutless and never tried it because of personal feelings or what they have heard...if only they knew....
I wonder should we tell them?

Playing The Blame Game...Nobody Wins...!!!
Regular readers of this blog know how much I detest pointing the finger...'blaming' is a
waste of time and counterproductive to solving the problem(s) that exist...!!!
I have reiterated that message in many posts...!!! In fact, I tire of talking about it...BUT...
We are seeing the despicable tactic of BLAME rearing its ugly head in our political system from top to bottom...
This is going to be a short post, because, bottom-line...
BLAMING is a sure indication that the blamers haven't a clue on how to resolve the problem...!!!
Hopefully, this blame-game tactic is just buying time to further explore the problem rather than throwing up hands in desperation and implicitly acknowledging defeat...!!!
Watch TV closely this week to see and hear what I'm talking about...!!!
