Sunday: Burning!

Since I've recently shared with you all, that I've been writing a LOT, only it's not about real estate, I decided to share just a little something from under The Willow Tree. Whether you worship on Saturday or Sunday, we serve the same God; and I pray blessings, healings, miracles, and encouragement for all of you.  (The following poem/prayer *possibly a song in the future, if I add to it*, was written about a year ago.)

Willow Tree Ministries-Lisa Hill-Daytona Beach Christian RealtorBURNING

As we look up to the Heavens; His fire is burning and it glows.

May that fire falll upon us, and purify our souls.

Lift your eyes toward Jesus, See Him burning on His throne.

I fall on my knees in worship. Now He's burning in my soul.

Let's keep our eyes on Jesus; and let the whole world know

of His great love and power, as we let Him take control.

Just a spark can change a nation, with the fire of Heaven's glow.

Lord Jesus burn within me. I let go.   Lord... take control.

June 27-Declared Day of Prayer for The Gulf Coast Disaster

                     Multi-State Governors Declare June 27 Day of Prayer for Gulf Coast Disaster

3 crosses-Free FotoFor all you prayer warriors out there, mark your calendars!

First of all, two days ago, on the evening of June 25, there was a conference call prayer line with the Family Research Council and the leaders of several 24/7 prayer teams, regarding the Gulf Coast Disaster...    During that same time, the Governors of Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, and the Lt. Governor of Florida, declared June 27, "The Gulf Coast Disaster Day of Prayer" and have each issued a proclamation to their respective states.

And now, the even more amazing part of the "declaration" is just how it was worded and presented! Below is the actual Declaration for the state of Florida for "The Gulf Coast Disaster Day of Prayer".

That date is tomorrow! So as you go about your days, you can be quietly, constantly praying, in whatever manner God leads you, to pray over this disaster. Or if possible, you can gather together with a group, to pray for the many needs.

And now, the even more amazing part of the "declaration" is just how it was worded and presented! Below is angel-public domainthe actual Declaration for the state of Florida for "The Gulf Coast Disaster Day of Prayer".

   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Whereas, it is our heritage that as a people we have been taught not only to publicly acknowledge God for the many blessings bestowed on us but also that we are to turn to Him and seek His aid and assistance in times of distress and calamity; and President Ronald Reagan affirmed not only that Prayer is the mainspring of the American spirit, a fundamental tenet of our people since before the Republic was founded" but also that "Prayer is today as powerful a force in our Nation as it has ever been. We as a Nation should never forget this source of strength";
President Reagan reminded us that we "have always turned to prayer at times of crisis. We recall the moving story of George Washington kneeling in the snow at Valley Forge to ask for divine assistance when the fate of our fledgling Nation hung in the balance. And Abraham Lincoln tells us that on the eve of the Battle of Gettysburg, 'I went into my room and got down on my knees in prayer.' Never before, he added, had he prayed 'with as much earnestness"; and President James Buchanan reminded citizens: "In this the hour of our calamity and peril, to Whom shall we resort for relief but to the God of our fathers? His omnipotent arm only can save us from the awful effects . . . let our fervent prayers ascend to His Throne."
President John Tyler said that "When a Christian people feel themselves to be overtaken by a great public calamity, it becomes them to humble themselves under the dispensation of Divine Providence, to recognize His righteous government over the children of men, to acknowledge His goodness in time past, as well as their own unworthiness, and to supplicate His merciful protection for the future";
. . . . . The Continental Congress declared that "in the hour of calamity and impending danger . . . we are peculiarly animated, with true penitence of heart, to prostrate ourselves before our great Creator and fervently to supplicate His gracious interposition for our deliverance."
I therefore call a Day of Prayer, urging citizens to pray comfort on the families of those killed in the initial blast; that God would crown with success efforts to stem the flow of escaping oil; that He would interpose to mitigate further damage and strengthen the hands of clean up crews; that He would sustain those whose livelihood is directly impacted by this tragedy; that He would preserve the health of citizens along the coastal regions; that He would comfort the minds of all citizens, reminding us that He is a strong refuge in times of trouble; that He would guide the counsels of our civil leaders and provide them with wisdom and Divinely inspired solutions to the many complex problems associated with this disaster; and that He would prevent future recurrences.
Excitement in the Air for 2010. And It's Not Limited to Real Estate!
        Better Attitude, Better REALTORS®, Better Real Estate Market. Lisa Hill's Real Estate Blog
As I've recently blogged; I've made some big changes in my real estate business that I still have not fully disclosed. (I still have a lot of changes to make on my Daytona Beach real estate web site before everything will become happy peoplecompletely clear). But I am WAY out of my comfort zone! However, this is the door that God opened. And I trust HIM!
Personal beliefs aside, as I talk to real estate professionals lately, and read through the many blogs here on Active Rain, I sense hope. I personally was just glad to be out of 2009! Last year was quite frankly, a horrible year for me. And as I stated in the post below...
Nothing Silly about this Saturday on Lisa Hill's Daytona Beach Real Estate Blog... You can't keep doing the same things and expect different results. I know we've all heard variations of that old adage. But it's so true!
I have some personal, health-related problems that came into effect, along with the downturn of the real estate industry. Many of you know about these circumstances, but they're not going to change anytime soon, and I'm not going to elaborate on them right now. But sometimes the bad things can result in something good. One of the things that I've not yet blogged about is the fact that I now have a partner in my real estate business. We each have strengths that the other does not have. And I never would have even considered this path, if I had not let go of my "stinking thinking" and started chasing the dream that has been in me for so long! Real estate is not just my job. It's my career. And it's part of a vision... a dream.... it's where I'm supposed to be!
But I knew I could not keep doing the same things and expect different results! And to get to the place where I am now, I had to travel down several avenues that did not work out, and at times, I was only more discouraged. Then a good friend suggested the change I recently made. (God puts people in our lives for a reason. And He can use anyone to get through to us!)
I've been pondering this change, and brainstorming the possibilities, as I've been working hard behind the scenes... and I key to your new houserealized (again) just how strong the human spirit can be, when we stop struggling and just open our eyes to other possibilities.
So I want to encourage everyone to jump into the deep end of the pool. Put yourself in a "sink-or-swim" position. Let go of old thinking and prejudices. Get outisde that box... crush that old box.... burn that old box... and let new vision take control. Look around. There's hope all around us. People everywhere WANT things to change! They're actually routing for you! YES, WE ARE ROUTING FOR YOU TO SUCCEED! And that change is already being evidenced by the basic principle of SHIFTING our thinking! I'm seeing it on so many blog posts here on Active Rain. There's a change in the attitudes of people everywhere. There's a renewed sense of hope as we enter the next decade. And ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING!
Famous old adages are famous for a reason... they contain power! So I'll throw in another one: Your attitude determines your altitude!
Just having hope can be enough to bring about change. It's a momentum... a force to be reckoned with. It will precede you, and pave the way to bigger and better things... maybe even great things!
We all have so much potential within us. In the last year or so, a lot of negative forces came against me, and I'm sorry to say, these things affected my attitude. I don't think I'm alone in this. But just as discouragement and frustration can be contagious, hope is even more so. Fresh perspective is contagious! And new paradigms open new doors.
Here is just one definition of a paradigm: "A set of assumptions, concepts, values, and practices that constitutes a way of viewing reality for the community that shares them, especially in an intellectual discipline."
Do you see how much power a paradigm can hold? How many of us recently wrote posts about the book "SHIFT", by Gary Keller? My question to you is, did you write your post(s) just to get extra points (game the system) or Book-Shiftdid you really think about "shifting" your thinking, and your old paradigm?
I won't belabor this subject. I just want to encourage you to truly SHIFT your thinking! Kick your old thought processes out the door! Let renewed hope take hold! And become a force of nature! (Even with physical disabilities!!!) WE can actually bring about the changes that are so desperately needed, and reach far beyond the little scope of our real estate businesses. WE have the power. We're NOT a slave to the system. We are NOT beholden to the whims and wants of others. We CAN bring about far-reaching change.
I'm calling an end to the old cycle of "stinking thinking". And I'm claiming a FANTASTIC NEW ERA OF BRAVERY AND SUCCESS to all my friends, family and associates. The past is the past. Let it go. Your past does not have to control your future. I'm facing forward; not looking behind. I'm embracing a new decade; renewed hope; and all the good things I can dream and imagine. And guess what!? This is ALL biblical, and promised to us by God. Yes, we go through difficult times. But we learn valuable, character-building lessons. Then we step over the threshold; we turn the page; we move forward... Jeremiah 29:11 "11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
In the last decade we went through years of extravagance and wealth. Then as always happens, the tide eventually turned. During the years of increase and wealth, it was easy to become spoiled and succumb to a sense of entitlement. This way of thinking is not something for which we should be proud. And I think that enough time has now passed for us to take inventory, and realized where we made our own mistakes. Because yes, we ALL made poor choices at one time or another. But now, welcome to 2010... new beginnings, renewed hope, a shift in our thinking, and and greater maturity, and character.... Ephesians 4:22 "You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24and to put on the new self....
Welcome to 2010. What kind of attitude will you embrace? What kind of paradigm will you guide you? What kind of thinking will be your guide? Will you let your pride hold you back? Or will you let go, and let renewed hope take control? I know what I'm choosing. I've already made the choice. And I'm walking forward into VICTORY!
Ethics, Principles, Internal Beliefs and Selling Real Estate
        Business and Life Principles by Lisa Hill, Daytona Beach REALTOR®. "The Smart Choice"
bible with lightWe all have an internal battle. Some people struggle with some of these, and some struggle with all of them. They affect our relationships with everyone in our lives, including business.
WRONG ways from which to think, believe and act....
Pride, Envy, Jealousy, Sorrow, Regret, Arrogance, Self-Pity, Guilt, Resentment, Inferiority, Superiority, Ego, Selfishness, Self-Seeking, and more.
So how do you change these negative qualities within yourself?
Choose the right ways to think, believe and act... “The Fruit of the Spirit”... Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, Temperance... and the characteristics of Christ... Hope, Benevolence, Empathy, Generosity, Truth, Compassion, and more.
So how do you keep from falling into wrong thinking and behaviors?
Control your thoughts! “FEED” your mind only what is “healthy”. (Healthy in=Healthy out. Garbage in=Garbage out.) CHOOSE righteousness, peace and joy....
(1 Corinthians 13:4-8a NIV) 4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8Love never fails.
(1 Corinthians 13:4-8a NKJV) 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails.
Lastly, but certainly not the least... The opposite of love is not hate. The opposite of love is fear. So what is controlling you? Love=Success. Fear=Failure. Choose to be who God has called you to be. Choose to live in Freedom... No Oppression. No Fear... Choose Love. And Do Unto Others as You Would Have Them Do Unto You.
Have a blessed, successful, profitable day. And SHOW your family, your friends, your clients, and everyone you encounter, all the "good stuff" that's inside you. Let the light inside you shine through =)
Established Church, Fresh Anointing, New Home
           Daytona Beach Christianity and Real Estate. By Lisa Hill, "THE SMART CHOICE!"
3 crosses by FreeFoto It was the summer of 2003 when our family left our previous church where we had been attending for several years. I had been anticipating that move for quite some time. I had literally dreamed it, and knew God was leading us elsewhere. And it was a good move for all of us.
When we joined the church family at Spirit Life Harvest Church , it wasn't long before I joined the Worship Team (as usual), my husband helped with ushering (as usual) and my daughter became a youth leader (new position for her =). This new church family was a spiritual leap forward for us, and God blessed us abundantly.
I realize that some people stay in the same church as their physical family for their whole lives. But we pray long and hard regarding where God wants us to be, so that each of us can grow spiritually, in wisdom and maturity. During the time we've been with Pastor's Ken and Laura Hope and their awesome family, God has blessed and grown our family beyond what we could have ever imagined.
During the time we've been at Spirit Life, we've gone through some major church growng pains, including a name change (long story there) and the loss of the building we had really loved! But that's how God brings about personal growth. We get stretched, and go through difficult changes, and if we stay focused on Christ, and let God work within us the way He wants to, we can become "firm, strong and courageous" .
Here's a mini sermon I heard a long time ago, taken from the story of David and Goliath....
The size of your enemy is a clue to the size of your promotion. It's not a mis-match. It's a setup. Before God can promote you, He has to introduce an enemy. God has custom-tailored your enemy for you. David never would have become King if Goliath had been a dwarf. Don't make God shrink your destiny. Stop asking for smaller battles & start believing for greater victory.
I use that story because through temporary buildings, name changes, and many other trials, God is still in control. And we wouldn't have gone through so many battles unless God had a great future planned for us. And this week, we moved into our beautiful new building! We're all so excited. We've been painting and decorating and hanging pretty mirrors and pictures, (and ordering pizza-lol) and getting ready for this Sunday. We're having our first service in our new building, with our new name... scripture Living Stones Community Church ... on Mother's Day, 2009. (Sorry the site's not up yet)
Now obviously the principles I shared that I previously heard about David and Goliath, can be applied to many rough times. Many people are desperate on so many levels. As REALTORS®, we're desperately trying to help our clients. And we need to make money to support our families! But most battles begin, and end, in our thoughts.
I recently decided to listen again to an audio book I heard a few years ago. It was time for me to hear it again. The book is called "The Dream Giver" by Bruce Wilkinson. It's an incredible parable with an even more incredible lesson after the parable. I'm sure God prompted me to listen to this audio book again, because in doing so, I realized it was time for me to move forward with a "dream" I've had for many years. I'm not going to share those details yet, (it has nothing to do with my real estate career) but it's just another confirmation of how awesome God is, and how He is always in control if we just let go our fears. For me to see that it was time to begin the journey of my personal "dream", it was a matter of getting rid of distractions, and clearing out the cobwebs, to even know that it was time to listen to "The Dream Giver" audio book again. And as I neared the end of the story, there were two small sentences that turned my world upside down. Those two small sentences said...
Stop looking up at your giants from your perspective. Start looking down on them from God's perspective.
Wow! Is there even anything else for me to say? How have you been viewing your giants? Is God still God or not? Because from His perspective, our giants are like ants! Now get focused, start believing, and get moving!
